Under the Chief is a hospital-set Candy Shorts series with 5 episodes, each running under two minutes. A fictional Candy character, Harriet Seagrave, leads the cast, and no real performer is behind it. Our flame score for the hospital night is Red hot, 4 of 5 flames.
The first night
Harriet is closing out her probation at the hospital, knowing the head nurse would love to see her dismissed. The chief of surgery, meanwhile, keeps noticing her.
When the operating room goes quiet, he claims a quiet room on the floor and gives instructions that nobody should walk in. The second episode follows what happens behind that door, with the rival waiting nearby. You can play episode 1 and judge for yourself. The rivalry with the head nurse adds pressure, so the night never feels relaxed, and the setting does most of the work.
The people
Harriet Seagrave is an invented AI character, an adult working her first real shift pattern, with no real performer behind her. If you enjoy workplace power games, Tori's Broken Vows offers a similar office-flavored tension. The head nurse is the rival, the chief is the authority, and Harriet is the newcomer caught between them.
