Red hot

Five episodes, each shorter than two minutes, cover the evening in My Stepsister's Slumber Party. Alma and her guests are Candy characters, not a star's twin, and the series earns Red hot, 4 of 5 flames from us. Think of a house full of her friends, one boy who is not supposed to be there and a rule that bends the moment she likes the look of him.

The setup

Alma is getting the house ready for an evening with her friends. Her stepbrother Ethan carries things in, and she catches him looking her way. She calls him out, he shrugs it off, and the mood stays playful.

When the first guests arrive, one of them sizes him up and says aloud what Alma would rather keep quiet. Alma declares a no-boys policy with one exception: whoever she picks. By the end of episode 1 she has made her pick and invited him to join. Watch the first episode for the full effect.

The guests

Alma, Carrie, Dahye, Kayla and Mila make up the cast, all adult Candy characters rather than digital twins of real performers. Alma runs the room and sets the rules, while the others mostly react and add heat. It is an ensemble more than a two-person story.

Tokens and free episodes

Alma's no-boys rule is broken for free in episode 1, no account required, and episode 2 only asks you to register. The three after that are 12 tokens apiece, so the party costs 3 × 12 = 36 tokens beyond the free pair. For what you can and cannot watch without paying, see Candy Shorts free.

Should you watch My Stepsister's Slumber Party?

Good pick if you like a crowded setting where the rules keep shifting. With five girls and one guest, each episode shifts who has the upper hand, and the two free ones tell you whether it suits you.

You will like it if fans of group dynamics and playful stepsibling tension will like it.

Pass if you want one romance with one partner.
